Why your Situation must Change (III)

“The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day” (Proverbs 4:18,  NIV)

This is the key Bible verse for the “Come and See” devotional today.

Everything in this earthly realm of life is subject to change, especially when brought into the presence of the Unchanging God. If you are experiencing an unpleasant situation, this will not last for the rest of your life! The Bible relates: “though your beginning was small, yet your latter end would increase abundantly.” (Job 8:7, New King James Version). As you remain steadfast in the reliable God to keep your hopes alive, without any doubt you will outlive all your life’s challenges.

With this revelation in mind, let us consider another key reason why our current situations have to change for the better. The devil is the ‘chief recycling officer’ of this world and his incapability to create anything new is a great disadvantage for him and his fallen angels. All the problems of mankind involve, basically, history repeating itself. The Bible recorded the conclusion of King Solomon as follows: “that which has been is what will be, that which is done is what will be done, and there is nothing new under the sun” (Ecclesiastes 1:9, New King James Version).

Whatever we are currently enduring and regardless of how long it has lingered, the truth remains the same: there is an end in view! It is not the first time that this situation will happen and we are not the first people to experience it. No wonder the Lord likened all the problems of this world either to elements of  fire or overflowing waters. He says: “when you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you.” (Isaiah 43:2, New King James Version).

The Lord has promised to go with us through those challenges. He promised to be with us to change those challenges so that they conform to His good thoughts towards us. The Almighty God is the only one with the ultimate power to create new, fresh and original things. He crafts new opportunities, as well as new hope, peace, ideas and solutions. Isaiah 43:19 (New International Version) states : “see, I am doing a new thing!  Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.

By default we are created to overcome all forms of challenges. It is no longer news that mankind has overcome many trials. Through God, all the recycled problems of the devil aimed against God’s children are bound to be vanquished. Your own situation might seem to be particularly bad but in reality it is not new at all; nothing is new under the sun. Have faith and trust the God who never fails that ‘this too shall pass away’ to the Glory of His Holy name . “What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31, New International Version)

Let us pray: “Father, by your power, bring a permanent end to all sorrow in my life” in Jesus’ Mighty Name. Amen.
